The Prayers of God's People
This past Sunday evening, we met together as a congregation and had a wonderful time of prayer. We have been hearing some teaching on prayer by Jim Cymbala. He is Pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle in NYC. He has such a humble spirit in his teaching and it has been very inspiring and challenging in my life. I really feel that we are beginning a journey in experiencing the mighty power of God through prayer. At the close of our time, we spent time in groups praying through the following scriptures. I invite each of you to read them, meditate on them and pray them back to God. I know that as we pray God’s word we will mold our lives into God’s design for us. I encourage you to pray for our church…that God will continue to reveal His plan and purpose to us daily.
Jeremiah 29: 11-13 11For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
When we don’t have the words to say…allow the Holy Spirit the opportunity to work and speak through you…
Romans 8: 26-27 26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.
Keep your eyes turned toward the Lord as you walk through this week.
Blessings,
Pastor Greg
