God's Comfort…Our Hope
Our community has once again been hit hard with yet other tragedy. It seems that we have been experiencing some type of difficult situation or circumstance too often. I have been asked many times why these type of events fill our lives…why heartache and hurt come our way. I must confess that many times I don’t have the answers to these questions, but I do know one things…our God is present and reveals himself over and over to those who are hurting and troubled. The scriptures says,
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matthew 11:28-29, NIV).
We might not receive comfort from our circumstances, but we are assured of God’s presence and comfort in our lives. In my devotional reading today I read these words written by David Nasser…
“By putting our hope into something bigger than everything around us, our energy isn’t wasted on fearing the little things. Instead, our Father actually teaches us how to handle them.”
Put your hope and trust in God…He is much bigger than anything or any circumstance around us.
Praying for God’s Comfort and Peace…
Pastor Greg
I thank you…all of you who are true disciples. My hope is in him and I DO trust him fully. Surrendering to Jesus Christ is so difficult but doing so gives a peace that is not explained by words-yet brings comfort.
I LOVE that scripture.
