I am so glad that we are enjoying a series of sermons about God’s grace. I appreciated Greg’s definition of grace and mercy:
Grace is when God gives us what we do not deserve.
Mercy is not giving us what we do deserve.
The one thing I just wanted to add was that we receive an abundance of Grace at salvation. And when you have been the recipient of such an amazing gift you cannot help but extend that same grace to those around you. I remember a few years ago, there was a person who really got on my nerves. In response, I avoided them. But when I began to understand how God saw me before I accepted him as my Savior, I thought He could have looked at me with that same attitude- but He didn’t! So I began to try to extend that same grace to the person – even though the person hadn’t changed. What had changed? I started tapping into the endless store of grace I received at salvation. His grace IS enough.
