The Center for Excellence in Congregational Leadership

I just wanted to say thank you once again for the opportunity to be part of CECL. This has been an incredible experience personally and professionally.

I have once again been challenged in my leadership this week at the Green Lake Conference Center. Each week of CECL has brought a new dimension to my understanding of my own life and leadership. I have also been challenged to a deeper commitment to Jesus Christ as I lead HIS church.

Today, I was reminded once again that the church needs to be about introducing people to Jesus. Not much else matters when it comes right down to it. We are all in need of a savior and that savior is Jesus. We must make and keep this the main thing in our church. I believe that if we all keep this focus in our personal and corporate lives, God will be honored and great things will happen in our lives personally and in our church.

I have been praying for the Holy Spirit to move and work among us in the days, weeks and months to come. Let’s believe that God can do more than we can imagine in our lives.

Please be in prayer for our lay leaders and staff as they travel today and are challenged this weekend. I am looking forward to having them here with me. Pray that God will use this time to refresh and give clear vision and focus as we keep our eyes and hearts on the main thing…leading people to Jesus.

i agree that we need to never lose sight of our main mission. i think we make it difficult sometimes trying to think of ways to get people to know this great Jesus we know but maybe it is as simple as just love, love, love…and letting that shine through and out of ourselves.
i will pray for u cecl peeps.
