Relearning Lessons
“Is anything too hard for God?” (Genesis 18:14)
It seems that I need to relearn this lesson in my life daily! There is nothing too hard for God…there is nothing impossible for God to accomplish in my life. When we get bogged down in life it is easy to forget that God can and will work in our lives.
A couple weeks ago I preached on the feeding of the 5000. Philip and Andrew were the ones interacting with Jesus in this story (see John 6). Jesus asked about the availability of food to feed the large crowd…Philip said it would take a fortune and Andrew said, we have a boy with 5 loaves and 2 fish, but what good is this with such a large crowd. They were only looking at the resources that they could see in themselves. They were not putting Jesus into the equation…and when we add Jesus to the equation, impossible things can happen.
So the lesson for me…and for all of us…in this life, the must remember that God can do all things in us and through us. Don’t sell yourself short. Allow your life to be a vessel that God can use to accomplish HIS work. See the gifts and situations that God has placed you in as part of his plan. Surrender your life to the work of the Holy Spirit daily and live in the moment of God’s goodness and grace.
The Apostle Paul said it this way…“I can do everything through him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4: 13). I pray that today, you will experience the presence and power of God at work in you.
