Our Wednesday…

Sorry that we have not been able to post. We have had a very busy three days. Here is a reflection from our day on Wednesday. I will post pics ASAP. Please pray for our safe travel tomorrow. We are looking forward to being back at home, but have had an incredible week. Can’t wait to tell you all about it.

The first thing we did was take a tour of the SCORE Medical Clinic. They can reach a lot of people through this. They are open once a week to the public and they soon hope they can be open more than that. Then we headed to the capital Santo Domingo to do some sightseeing and track distribution. We first thing we did was going to the market. It was really interesting and the vendors were following us around. We could argue about the price. Track distribution was both interesting and amazing. The people here are so receptive. You hardly saw anyone not take one, or throw them away. We finally got American food that we are use to!! For lunch we ate at Pizza Hut and for dinner we had McDonald’s. After lunch we headed off to do some sightseeing. The first thing we saw was the first church that was built in the new world. Now it is used on special occasions. We went to the top of a fort and the view of the city was amazing. We went and saw were some of the dictators and rulers were buried over the centuries. You had to be very quiet which was somewhat difficult for some people in our group (no names mentioned). Columbus had built his son Diego a house, and we got to visit. Inside there were still much of the old furniture. Diego must have been extremely short because they furniture and doorways were very small. That evening we went to a basketball arena in San Pedro and we pasted out more tracks. While we were there we some Christian step dancers. It was really cool but we all are to uncoordinated to even think about trying. After the all exciting day we came back to SCORE and ended the day with devotions. This experience has been truly amazing.
