Kim Warnock Travels to Haiti (Updated 03-06-10)

Please be in prayer for Kim Warnock as she travels to Haiti this weekend for a week of medical mission.  Kim is an OR nurse and will assisting in the medical care of those who are still suffering from injury and hurt from the devastating earthquake more than a month ago.  Please pray for physical strength and safety, for emotional strength in seeing so much need and only being able to do what you can physically do…
and for spiritual strength as we becomes the hands and feet of Jesus through this next week.

Pray also for her family here at home.

Kim, thanks for your faithfulness to follow the call of God!
Church, thanks for your prayer support during this mission!

Update #1  02-28-10

From Kim’s Facebook Page about 5:30 EST

Arrived in the Dominican Saturday evening; spent night driving into Haiti.  Staying on the campus of a Christian School outside Port Au Prince which serves as a medical personnel clearing site.  Share the campus with US and German militaries and medical groups from around the country.  Will find out each evening which . . . hospital/clinic we will work in the next day.  Cannot describe the poverty and destruction here.

Update #2 03-02-10

From Kim’s Facebook Page about 6:20 EST

Monday, worked as an ICU nurse (vents, calculating drip rates and all the other stuff I learned in nursing school and have not used since). Tuesday, scrubbed for orthopedic cases. God has such a sense of humor! The people here are so poverty stricken, but have beautiful spirits. Love to all.

Update #3 03-03-10

From Kim’s Facebook Page about 5:45 EST

Worked in surgery again today, shooing flies away from the surgical site. We are so blessed. Thank you to everyone for the financial gifts and donations of medications and medical supplies. I will be leaving here with empty suitcases and a very full heart. Is Haiti fixed? No. But some bellies were filled and some wounds treated.

Update #4 03-04-10

From Kim’s Facebook Page about 3:40 EST

After a long delay at the border, we made it back to the Dominican Republic. Left Haiti in the rain worrying about those living in the tents. Tired, but too blessed to even think about complaining. Will update you tomorrow. Thanks to all.

Update #5 03-06-10

From Kim’s Facebook Page about 12:00 EST

Home and hugging on my girls. Will post pictures as soon as Bob restores my photo card; some of the files will not open. Please don’t think that Haiti is on the way to recovery. It looks the same as it did a month ago. Millions are still hurt, sick and starving but very appreciative of the help from other countries…
