Proven Character

Who can you count on? More importantly, who can count on YOU?

In Philippians 2, Paul highlights two remarkable men: Timothy and Epaphroditus. These weren't perfect people, but they were proven. Timothy genuinely cared about others' well-being, not just his own interests. Epaphroditus was a brother, coworker, and fellow soldier who nearly died serving Christ and his church.

Paul's instruction is clear: "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves" (Philippians 2:3-4). In a world where most people seek their own interests, faithful followers of Jesus stand out. They're the ones who genuinely care, who show up when it's tough, who can be counted on.

The challenge today: Be a Timothy. Be an Epaphroditus. Develop proven character by focusing on your relationship with Jesus, and let Him handle your reputation. We need people we can count on in following Jesus, and we need to BE people others can count on.
